Fresh from Whitney Houston's funeral, David Gest appeared on the couch alongside Bill Turnbull and Sian Williams this morning, and let rip. Sort of. It was not an attack on Brown, there was certainly no malice in his voice, it was as if he was reading a shopping list. He said simply that before she met him, Whitney didn't do drugs, was the last person anyone would have thought of would have done drugs, and wondered what she had ever seen in him. That should have been obvious - the bad boy every good girl fantasises about. Unfortunately or otherwise, in this instance, she was unable to distinguish fantasy from reality. A certain Peter Tatchell appears to suffer from the same problem regarding her relationship with Brown in particular and with men in general.
Gest was also an intimate of Michael Jackson, here he is talking about the Jackson legacy on the BBC last November. On today's programme, he related what he had seen at the funeral on Saturday when Brown stormed out. Gest said also he had hoped Whitney would marry Michael Jackson. Now there's a thought.
